About Governance Institute National Conference

We're hosting our National Conference at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, 2 to 3 September 2019. Come together with business leaders across Australia for our premier annual gathering to address the latest insights on the future of governance and risk management from across industry sectors.

National Conference 2019 offers you the chance to:

  • hear from 50 expert speakers — we’re hosting the prominent practitioners from across the world
  • build your network with business leaders from Australia and beyond
  • gain up to 12.25 CPD hours.

Respect. Trust. Challenge.

We have built the theme around People with the key words Respect. Trust. Challenge. We explore the idea that organisations and therefore boards and management are social systems.

Conference format

The plenary sessions offer a timely opportunity for you to hear from international and local thought leaders and governance and risk management experts on rebuilding trust, empathy, and sound human-centred culture and strategy.

The three concurrent sessions connect the big ideas to the mechanisms to create and deliver sound governance, intelligent risk management and value-driven strategy. Pick the streams that best suit your role (you can mix and match). The three concurrent streams are:

  • leadership
  • governance
  • the risk universe.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours

  • Day one = 7.5 CPD hours
  • Day two = 4.75 CPD hours
  • Both days = 12.25 CPD hours
